On 3 October 2024, Goa Management Association (GMA) celebrated its 49th Annual Day function and hosted the GMA Annual Lecture.
The Annual Day celebrations were held after the 49th AGM proceedings.
Mr Nasser Munjee, Former Chairman of DCB Bank and Former Managing Director of IDFC, delivered the GMA Annual Lecture on Contemporary Times: Tectonic Shifts and New Paradigms.
Mr Rohan Bhandare introduced the speaker, Mr Nasser Munjee to the members.
In his lecture, Mr Munjee spoke of the various challenges faced by the world and addressed these challenges in three buckets, faced by the world, our country and the state of Goa. He discussed global economic turbulence, significant geopolitical shifts, de-dollarisation, other forces shaping the world today and their potential impact on future growth in the world, the country and the state.
Speaking about India and Goa, he mentioned infrastructure development, creating value-added employment for youth, skill development and the need to focus on nutrition and health.
He provided valuable insights on the industry sectors and markets and government role. After the address, he interacted with the audience on their queries.
The talk was enthusiastically received by the audience, which consisted of senior business leaders from Goa, industrialists, heads of other business forums in Goa, members of GMA, industry professionals and the general public.
GMA also distributed its Annual Business Awards 2024 at the Annual Day, felicitating the winners at the hands of the Chief Guest.
