On 3 October 2024, GMA held its 49th Annual Day and Annual Lecture. On this occasion, it gave away the Annual GMA Management Awards recognising and rewarding the best management talent.
Mr Nasser Munjee, Former Chairman of DCB Bank and Former MD of IDFC was the Chief Guest at the GMA Annual Day and delivered the GMA Annual Lecture 2024. He presented the awards to the winners at the GMA Annual Day function.
The following awards were presented to the winners.
GMA Manager of the Year 2024: Mr Atul Lawande, Manager – Maintenance & Engineering, Deccan Fine Chemicals (India) Pvt. Ltd.
He was awarded a medal and trophy sponsored by the Dempo Group of Companies and a certificate from GMA.
Mr Lawande is a BE Mechanical Engineer from GEC and has more than 18 years of experience in the agro & chemical industry in plant maintenance and projects of manufacturing and production plants.
The jury for the GMA Manager of the Year Award consisted of Mr Manguirish Pai Raiker, Past Chairman, Assocham, Mr Vikas Saxena, Chief Consultant, Rileen Global Consultants and Mr Deepak A Bandekar, Chairman, GMA.
GMA Young Manager of the Year 2024: Ms Shruti Nadagouda, Senior Manager – Sales & Engineering, Sun360.
She was awarded a salver and trophy sponsored by Business Goa and a certificate from GMA.
Ms Nadagouda is an ME in Thermal Scienes & Energy Systems from Manipal Institute of Techno,ogy and has more than 10 years of experience in diverse industries like agrochemicals, solar energy and engineering in several portfolios from maintenance to sales and engineering.
The jury comprised Ms Gaurapriya Pai Kane, Director, Pai Kane Group, Mr G M K Venkata Rao, Director – Finance & Company Secretary, Pentair Water India Pvt Ltd and Mr Rajesh Mehrotra, Vice Chairman, Goa Management Association.
GMA Best Management Student of the Year 2024 (Post Graduate): Mr Raghav Khurana, PGDBM Student, Goa Institute of Management.
Mr Khurana was presented a medal and trophy sponsored by Smartlink Holdings Ltd and a certificate from GMA.
Mr Khurana has an impressive academic record, scoring at 90% at all the levels from high school to his undergraduate programme, and continues to top his class at the PGDBM programme in Banking, Insurance and Financial Services.
The jury here comprised Ms. Rina Barreto Shankar, Founder & CEO, Cheree Tree Concepts, Mr Saurabh Khanna, General Manager, The Park Hotels and Mr Rohan Bhandare, Hon. Secretary, GMA.
GMA Best Management Student of the Year 2024 (Under Graduate): Mr Mohammed Chowhan, BBA Student, SS Dempo College of Commerce & Economics.
He was presented a salver and trophy sponsored by Mr V Prabhu Verlekar and a certificate from GMA.
Chowhan is a student of the BBA programme. Besides having a good academic record, he is passionate about market research, marketing design and creative photography.
The jury consisted of Ms Sheetal Pai Kane, Designer and Consultant, Mr Elias Vaz, GM – Commercial and Logistics, Paradeep Phosphates Ltd and Mr Amin Ladak, Immediate Past Chairman, Goa Management Association.
Mr Virendra Acharya, Hon Treasurer, conducted proceedings and recited the citations of all the winners.
